What's New for the 2022 Nissan Frontier?
The Frontier sees many changes in 2022. This year's Frontier is a more upscale, safer, and more comfortable version of the midsize Frontier. Now you can even get the Frontier in an additional trim level called the Pro-4X, which is newly available for the 2022 model year. The 2022 Frontier shows that it's one of the safest and most tech-savvy pickup trucks on the market, with amenities such as an available infotainment system with a nine-inch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and comprehensive safety equipment to protect people and trailers. The Frontier gets a "first-in-class" panoramic camera that watches the trails to avoid objects and obstacles. Its newly redesigned center console has a "best-in-class" storage volume of four liters, which is about twice the amount that most other trucks in its class have to offer.
2022 Frontier Trims & Features
The expanded 2022 Nissan Frontier lineup still begins with the base trim called the S. The S features some of the truck's new upgrades and amenities for the latest model year, including a more spacious cabin due to a wheelbase that is extended by five inches. LED taillights are now included on the Frontier, and Trailer Sway Control is added as a safety feature. The S has a generous technology package that includes two USB ports and a user-friendly infotainment system with an eight-inch display screen. A larger nine-inch display screen is offered through upgrades.
Grab handles on the doors are added to the second trim, called the SV, for additional comfort and convenience. You can also order a WiFi hotspot and a larger touchscreen with the SV. Further up the line, the Pro-X gets roof rails, heated front seats, and heated side mirrors. Lastly, the new Pro-4X has more outdoor-oriented amenities, four-wheel drive, and a more luxurious cabin with a leather-wrapped dashboard.
2022 Nissan Frontier Horsepower
Following a recent upgrade in 2021, the Nissan Frontier keeps the same engine in 2022. This engine has no shortage of power and capability, with an output of 310 HP. The engine, which comes with an automatic transmission with nine speeds, is matched with a rear-wheel drivetrain for the first three trims, while a four-wheel drive is standard if you get the new Pro-4X trim level.
