2020 Nissan Frontier

What's New For the 2020 Nissan Frontier?

While the 2020 Nissan Frontier pickup truck has the same overall design that it originally sported back in 2004, there are still new things in store for this year's model. Specifically, the engine and transmission has received an overhaul and are more powerful than ever before. To break it down even further, the Frontier comes with a brand new 3.8-liter V6 engine and nine-speed high tech automatic transmission.

Available Features in the 2020 Frontier

The Nissan Frontier has always been a popular mid-size pickup truck for work. The 2020 model is certainly no different. Nissan is offering three trims available to customers: the S, the SV, and the Pro-4X. No matter which trim you choose, the vehicle comes equipped with standard features superior to those found in last year's model. Some of the details include push-button start, a shift knob wrapped in leather, power windows and locks, and a tilting steering column.

There are two configurations for the Nissan Frontier's cab: extended and crew. Crew is the more popular option and includes four doors with front hinges. If you select the Pro-4X trim, you also get black painted steel bumpers instead of the standard chrome that's featured on the S and SV models. Overall, the Pro-4X has more of a monochrome appearance. There is also the roof rack to tote equipment while you work.

How Much Power Does the Nissan Frontier Have?

The 2020 Nissan Frontier's 3.8-liter V6 engine consists of 93 percent new or redesigned parts. It gets an impressive 310 horsepower and is more powerful yet fuel-efficient. While EPA testing has not yet been completed, the truck's efficiency is expected to be exceptional thanks to the all-new nine-speed automatic transmission, which is also quieter than what was equipped in older models of the Frontier. Essentially the transmission is supposed to be similar to what is included in the 2020 Nissan Titan.

2020 Brings a Wide Selection of Safety Tech

Safety features are essentially minimal on the 2020 Nissan Frontier. There is no driver assistance technology available such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, or active lane control. However, the pickup is equipped with six airbags and a rearview camera.
