The reliable Nissan Sentra is upgraded for 2019 with innovative features. All models, with the exception of the base S, now come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The display screen has been enlarged to a comfortable 7.0 inches, a far cry from its previous dimensions of 5.0 and 5.8 inches. Aside from the base model, all others feature CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), which is an innovative design that helps the Sentra attain better performance and mpg fuel efficiency (up to 37 highway / 29 city). However, there is much more the 2019 models offer.
The Sentra comes in the S, SV, SR, SR Turbo, SL, and NISMO models, and each have unique features that offer something for everyone. With the exception of the NISMO and SR Turbo versions, all are powered by an efficient and reliable 1.8L Inline-4 engine that will dependably get you through rush hour traffic or to a cross-country destination.
For starters, the economical base S model brings good looks, six- and four-way manual seats, steel wheels, and a Bluetooth system. The CVT is optional, but the manual 6-speed transmission is a treat for those who like a bit more input on how their engine revs.
Next in line, the SV boasts a push-button ignition, rear USB ports, alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and zone climate controls. The SV also comes with the optional Special Edition package that includes lighter 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a scenic power moonroof, rear disc brakes, cross traffic alert system, adaptive cruise, and a blind spot warning feature - among other upgrades.
The sporty SR model flashes a rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, interior sport trim, and integrated LED lighting. The optional turbocharged 1.6L I-4 engine is available on the SR Turbo if you want an extra power boost to match its fast looks. If you prefer a more elegant interior, the SL features a moonroof, leather seats, a Bose audio system, a six-way power driver's seat, and much more.
The top-of-the-line NISMO model comes with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and premium exterior accents. MacPherson struts offer a smoother journey as the 18-inch alloy wheels provide grip and response. It's designed for fun rides, tight corners, and best-in-model-class handling.
The Sentra comes with two engine choices. The S, SV, SR, and SL models are driven by a 1.8L I-4 engine that produces 124 horsepower while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency. For those that like more pep while on the go, the SR Turbo and Nismo models boast a turbo 1.6L I-4 power plant that produces 188 horsepower. Despite your engine choice, you'll have a piece of mind from the reliability of the Sentra.
The Sentra is packed with safety features. Occupants are surrounded by front-, side-, and overhead-impact airbags, while seat belt pretensioners tighten belts in the event of a collision. Anti-lock brakes modulate brake pressure, allowing the vehicle's tires to rotate and turn while braking. When the Sentra's handling limits are exceeded, the stability control feature activates and reduces engine power and/or manipulates the brakes to help you control the vehicle. Let's not forget about keeping your vehicle secure - the advanced security system disables the engine's ignition if it senses an incorrect key.
