What's New For the 2019 Nissan Frontier?

The Nissan Frontier has been a staple on roads across America since its introduction in 1997. It is currently in its third generation and has gained a solid reputation for its numerous features and impressive performance. For the 2019 model year, Nissan has made only minor enhancements to this beloved truck. The new changes include a standard infotainment system and the availability of the Cayenne Red exterior color on more trim levels.

What are the Nissan Frontier Trims & Features?

The new Frontier is available in a number of different configurations to meet your unique needs. There are five different trim levels available. They include the base S, SV, Desert Runner, Pro-4X, and SL. Nissan is also offering three different body styles. King Cab models have a bed that's over six feet long and pillarless rear cabin doors. Crew Cab models offer a bit more space. The cabin is bigger to accommodate full-sized seats in the rear. Instead of pillarless doors, Crew Cab Frontiers have traditional swinging doors. Finally, there's the Crew Cab Long Bed. This body style combines the best features of the King Cab and the Crew Cab. It has a spacious cabin and bed that measures over six feet in length.

Features and technology vary between the trim levels. However, for 2019, Nissan made sure that every Frontier owner has access to great high-tech amenities. One of the biggest changes for the new model year is that the 7.0-inch infotainment screen is now standard across the lineup. It features a vibrant touch screen display, BlueTooth connectivity, and a number of useful built-in applications. Pro-4X and SL build include Nissan Connect. This infotainment system utilizes a smaller 5.8-inch touch screen display. However, it has enhanced functionality thanks to its compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has navigation and numerous connected applications

Higher trim levels, such as Desert Runner and Pro-4X, are equipped with a 4.0-liter V6 engine. It's capable of giving you 261 horsepower and 281 pound-foot of torque. Both of these engines can be paired with a manual or automatic five-speed transmission system. Depending on the particular engine and trim level you choose, the Frontier can provide you with a maximum towing capacity of 6,450 pounds. It also has a maximum payload of 1,430 pounds when properly equipped.
