What's New for the 2018 Nissan Maxima?

The Nissan Maxima 2018 didn't see a lot of changes from the 2017 model year. However, if you want your vehicle to be a connected device, you are going to enjoy the changes that were made. The 2018 model year sees the addition of Android Auto to go along with Apple CarPlay. These features allow a person to browse the internet, check their messages or perform other tasks without taking their attention from the road. USB chargers are now available on the rear seats to allow people to use their phones or tablets without draining a device's battery.

The Nissan Maxima comes in a variety of styles such as the S, SV and SL. There is also the SR and Platinum trim levels to choose from. Although the S is the base model, it comes with a variety of features such as advanced collision warning and a remote start system. The SV comes with those features plus leather heated seats while the SL features a Bose sound system and blind spot warning abilities.

Those who prefer a sportier vehicle will enjoy the SR as it is designed with sport-tuned suspension and LED lights. The Platinum trim level comes with a feature that allows a driver to have a 360 degree field of vision. Sensors will alter the driver if there is something behind the vehicle or if it is not safe to change lanes.

2018 Nissan Maxima ExteriorThe Maxima comes with a standard CVT transmission as well as 300 horsepower engine. This acts to provide a high level of power and control regardless of how fast the vehicle is going or where it is being driven. Front-wheel drive and electronic power steering provide an additional level of control in almost any type of weather or road condition.

Safety

2018 Nissan Maxima RearThe 2018 Nissan Maxima is designed for the safety of both adults and children who ride inside of it. For instance, there is a latch system that anchors and tethers children in place to prevent them from being thrown around in an accident. Crumple zones work to absorb the impact of a collision while steel beams help to protect occupants in the event of an accident.

A comprehensive security system can keep people away from the vehicle, which may prevent it from being damaged or stolen. The car's traction control system will help to keep it on the road even when it is covered with gravel, snow or ice. Optional cross traffic and blind spot warning systems can also reduce the odds of an accident.

It was given a five star rating in NHTSA safety test ratings, and it was ranked as good in all tests done by the IIHS. This means that safety testing institutions have determined that the Maxima can reduce the odds of a person being seriously hurt or killed in almost any type of accident.
