The good news is that this mid-size truck has better safety ratings than the 2017 model had. Nissan's updates to the Frontier have yielded a four-star score for overall safety by the NHTSA and the highest score offered by the IIHS for three of the five safety tests that it conducts. The Frontier has advanced safety features, such as a NissanConnect Audio feature, rollover sensors integrated into the airbags and a crumple zone design. All trim levels for 2018 also come with a manual lock on the tailgate, four-wheel ABS, child safety seat anchors, child safety door locks, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, anti-whiplash headrests, front seatbelt pretensioners, driveline traction control and electronic stability features.
