Performance

Generating up to 110 kilowatts, a conventional electric motor propels the 2021 LEAF S. When translated to SAE ratings, this propulsion system generates 147 hp. With instant access to 236 lb-ft of torque, this base trim accelerates quickly. Producing up to 160 net kw, an electric motor drives the SV Plus. When pushed to its limit, the powertrain unleashes 250 lb-ft without any noticeable delays. Compared to the base powerplant, this modified powerplant offers an additional 67 hp. Each model is driven by a transmission system that operates on a reduction gear with only a single speed for simplicity. Using Lithium-ion chemistry, a 40-kWh battery pack is installed on the LEAF S model. You may recharge the battery through a 50-kW Quick Charge Port. Also operating on Li-ion, the SV Plus' battery unit offers an additional 22 kWh of storage capability. You can recharge this battery through a 100-kW Quick Charge Port. These electric Nissan cars employ regenerative braking to convert kinetic energy into electricity in stop-and-go conditions. Additionally, the B-Mode optimizes performance in various driving conditions. Both light-duty hatchbacks are supported by a rear suspension system with a torsion beam for proper stability.

Appearance

The 2021 LEAF S has several exterior sporty installations, including a rear diffuser and underbody panels for optimum aerodynamics. This base trim has a drag coefficient of only 0.28 at typical driving speeds. An illuminated charging port with a lock is another notable highlight of this entry-level model. Some premium upgrades to the SV Plus' exterior include LED headlights, heated side mirrors and fog lights. In terms of exterior design, these electric hatchbacks come in cool paint colors, such as Brilliant Silver, Sunset Drift and Scarlet Ember.

Features

Standard in the 2021 LEAF S, the e-Pedal technology helps you achieve optimum efficiency. This base edition also has several accident-prevention technologies, like the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Rear Automatic Braking. Additionally, the cockpit is dominated by an 8.0-inch display with the NissanConnect suite. The SV Plus has several exclusive active safety functions, like the ProPILOT ASSIST and Intelligent Cruise Control.
