When you get a new Nissan, your vehicle will come with a factory standard warranty covering repairs and replacement components for original parts that break. Nissan has generous factory warranties covering specific parts of the car, such as the powertrain and mechanical features.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

One major factory plan on a new Nissan is the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This warranty includes basic coverage for all the original parts of your vehicle. The warranty covers expenses associated with replacing components, along with all required labor, for original parts that break or are defective, provided they are installed by the original manufacturer and the replacement parts are also originals. The warranty coverage lasts for 36,000 miles or three years.

Powertrain Warranty

A Powertrain Warranty is another factory warranty that comes with your Nissan. The Powertrain Warranty covers the cost of replacing the car's engine, transmission, transaxle, and other parts in the powertrain system. Nissan's Powertrain Warranty lasts a year or 12,000 miles. The Powertrain Warranty also includes coverage for the car's safety restraint system.

Emissions Warranty

The Emissions Warranty lasts for three years or 36,000 miles. Nissan has a factory warranty for vehicles nationwide, and it also has a warranty plan for cars in California. This warranty plan covers the cost of replacing parts in the emissions system and emissions control system that break or have defects when they are initially installed. The warranty applies to gasoline and diesel engines, along with hybrid cars.

Seat Belt Limited Warranty

Nissan's seat belt warranty covers the cost of replacing seat belts that fail to work correctly or are defective when you buy the car. Provided the original manufacturer installs the seat belts, they are covered through Nissan's factory warranty for up to 10 years starting on the date that you purchase the car. The seat belt warranty also covers the cost of labor that is associated with the repairs. The warranty will transfer with the owner.

MPP Plans

In addition to all of its factory warranties that are standard on newer vehicles, Nissan has a series of extended warranties called MPP plans. These plans provide extended coverage to protect your Nissan beyond the scope of the factory warranties. Nissan's MPP plans are available for lease wear protection if you are leasing a car, GAP coverage, and extended service contracts. MPP plans can also provide coverage for Nissan's older vehicles, even if they are not covered through factory warranties.
