What's New For the 2019 Nissan GT-R Model Review

The latest Nissan GT-R might be based on a design from the 1960s, but today's car is much safer, faster, and tech-savvy than its predecessor. With each passing year, in fact, the GT-R has gotten notable improvements and updates. Now, with the ability to go from 0-60 in just 2.9 seconds, the 2019 Nissan GT-R is right behind the Porsche 911 for speed and power. This year, it is offered in two choices of engine. The first is a six-cylinder, 3.8L that produces up to 565 HP. If you get the Nismo edition, however, you'll get an engine that generates 600 HP. Attention to detail is apparent from the outside with the GT-R's artfully sculpted exterior. Inside, premium luxury continues with state-of-the-art technology, updated safety amenities, and a spacious cabin.

2019 Nissan GT-R Has Abundant Features

Starting with the Pure, there are four trim levels of the 2019 GT-R. The Pure features a specialized braking system to match its powerful engine. Even on the base model, 20-inch wheels are standard. The interior features Nissan's own infotainment system called Nissan Connect. This infotainment system is displayed on an eight-inch touchscreen. It also has navigation, which along with its audio component, can be controlled by your voice. Apple CarPlay is a standard component of the 2019 GT-R. This sports car is equipped with a backup camera and front and rear parking sensors. A push-button start is standard, and the vehicle comes with a dual-zone climate control paired with a cabin microfilter. The base model comes with cruise control, and the controls for the infotainment system are mounted to the steering wheel for convenience.

Also standard are an auto-dimming rearview mirror and two 12V power outlets. The Premium adds to that list a premium Bose sound system with sound enhancement. Its cabin, contrarily, gets a noise cancellation feature to dim outside noise. The titanium exhaust system also has sound control. With the Track Edition, your GT-R gets a sportier look and feel with a tuned suspension system, a carbon fiber lid on the trunk, and 20-inch lightweight wheels made of alloy. On the inside, the Track Edition gets signature black and red accent stitching. Last but certainly not least is the Nismo. This trim level gives you the most power of all, thanks to its twin-turbo, six-cylinder engine. Carbon accents grace the front and rear fascias, and both the rear spoiler and side sills are made of lightweight carbon, too. Leather front seats are also standard.

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

2019 Nissan GT-R Exterior FrontThere are two engines offered in the 2019 GT-R. The base engine, which is standard on the three lowest trim levels, is a twin-turbo engine with a 3.8L capacity. This six-cylinder engine can produce a maximum of 565 HP at 6,800 RPM. Its maximum torque production is 467 LB-FT at a range of 3,300 - 5,800 RPM. A more powerful engine, which is a custom-tuned six-cylinder engine, is the driving force behind the Nismo. This 3.8L engine has 24 valves and a turbo charge. Its production capacity includes 600 HP at 6,800 RPM and a torque production of 481 LB-FT at a range of 3,600 to 5,600 RPM. A fine-tuned suspension system makes the Nismo easy to drive, too. Both engines come with all-wheel drive and operate on regular gasoline.
