Two Models and a Variety of Trims to Select From

The Nissan Versa sedan comes in four tiers: S, S Plus, SV and SL. The compact sedan carries over unchanged this model year, with the same features and offerings. Starting on the base S trim, the compact commuter is outfitted with cloth seating, Bluetooth phone connectivity, steering-wheel audio controls and an auxiliary jack. The S Plus adds cruise control, as well as a sporty rear spoiler. Available on the SV through the new Special Edition package and standard on the top-tier SL are even more tech features, including Bluetooth audio, hands-free texting and a 5-inch color radio display.

The refreshed Versa Note is also offered in four trims: S Plus, SV, SR and SL. The compact hatchback shows off with a new front end design with the V-Motion grille and a sporty rear fascia, as well as new features like larger cup holders and a second 12-volt outlet on select trims. For athletic-minded drivers looking for more sporty appointments, 2017 Versa Note reviews recommend the SR trim, which is topped off with accessories like foglights, a rear spoiler, synthetic suede seats and sport-finished wheels.

Spirited Performance

The 2017 Nissan Versa in Duluth is propelled by a 1.6-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that makes 109 ponies. On the S trim, a five-speed manual transmission comes standard, with a four-speed automatic being available. All other trims of the Nissan Versa, and Versa Note, are equipped with an Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Models with the Xtronic also get the highest fuel economy the Versa has to offer, with an EPA-estimated 35 mpg combined.

Safety Features

The Nissan Versa is designed to protect, and with features like antilock brakes, stability and traction control, and Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags, drivers will feel confident at every turn. A rear backup camera is optional on Versa SV, and standard starting on Versa SL and Versa Note SV. The well-equipped Versa Note SL gets a class-exclusive Around View Monitor for a 360-degree look at the vehicle's surroundings.
