Mechanical Performance

Although the 2019 Nissan Sentra is powered by a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. However, on the S, the engine generates 130 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque, while it produces 124 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque on the SV. Moreover, on the S, you can choose between the standard 6-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which saves energy by getting rid of gear shifting. The CVT, which is standard on the SV, helps the Sentra achieve its peak fuel efficiency numbers: at 29 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

For restraint and cushioning during a collision, the 2019 Nissan Sentra gets a pair of front impact airbags, dual front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and two side curtain airbags mounted on the roof. Other standard safety features on the Sentra include a rearview camera, electronic vehicle stability control, traction control, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist.
