Nissan Unviels Z Racing Concept Cars
In collaboration with Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Company, Nissan Motor unveiled the 230 and 244 Z Racing Concept cars. Both vehicles are based on the new Nissan Z sports model. The two racing concept cars were unveiled at the ENEOS Super Takiu 24-hour endurance race at Fuki Speedway on June 4 and 5, 2022.
Tale of two Z Racing Concept cars
One concept car is equipped with a 230 carbon-neutral engine, and the other features a 244 gasoline engine. The 230 car was backed by the Nismo team and the 244 car was backed by the Max Racing team. Nissan used these two cars in the grueling 24-hour race to collect valuable racing data. The data is used to study and further develop the CNF-compatible engine.
A carbon-neutral vision of the future
Ultimately, Nissan aims to achieve carbon neutrality throughout their product life cycle by 2050. Nissan is developing the CNF-compatible engine in the hopes of having carbon-neutral motorsports one day. For Nissan, this is about challenging the norms and developing competitive engines that are compatible with CNF. In addition, Nissan is the only Japanese manufacturer to take part in the Formula E World Championship.
